Interesting that being seen as a leader compared to other cities and counties is not significantly motivating.

While I'd never want innovation to hinge completely upon ego considerations, I'd love for civic leaders to be driven by a sense of pride and competition. It just might add some extra urgency and "oomph" to the civic innovation space!
